The JCI Creative Young Entrepreneur Award (CYEA) was launched internationally in the year 2005 by Junior Chamber International (JCI), the largest young person organisation in the world, to recognise, honour and celebrate exceptional young entrepreneurs and the role of creativity in their success.
In the year 2007, JCI CYEA made its debut in Malaysia after it was adopted as a National Programme by JCI Malaysia. Each year, a local organisation within the JCI Malaysia network submits a bidding request to bid for hosting rights from fellow JCI Malaysia members. Upon winning the bid, the Local Organisation will then be granted the rights to organise and host this prestigious event under the name of their respective Local Organisation. This year, JCI Lead Tropicana was awarded the hosting rights to this acclaimed award program.
Since its inception, JCI CYEA gained tremendous support from the government and private sectors in recognising the initiatives of JCI Malaysia to recognise, honour and support young local entrepreneurs who demonstrate their entrepreneurial prowess in building their business. This award has become a platform where we encourage new enterprise development among youths by recognising their entrepreneurial creativity and leadership qualities – ranging from how they foster innovative ideas into products or how they have successfully fifine-tuned a process or method to approach the market.
